Farm News, July 7

The veggies we will have this week:

Broccoli, zucchini, beets, lettuce, chard, kale, scallions, peas, dill, cilantro, parsley, basil, radish, turnip, kohlrabi.

On the farm this week:

Argentina beat Belgium and the Netherlands beat Costa Rica!  Actually, I have not managed to sneak in any world cup games, but at least it didn’t rain for a week now!  The sun came out this weekend and it’s amazing how fast things suddenly seem to be growing.  You can actually watch things grow right now.  For proof look at the following two pictures of the same corn taken 5 minutes apart and see how much it grew!

We also had surprise help today on the peas thankfully!   Dawna Marie and family showed up to pick the final row in the hail storm today.  I told them they had to keep working while I hid under cover to photograph the storm.

We lost Devin for the season because of a wrist injury and Kevin is swamped (literally) with his own farm, so I probably won’t be at the pick up this week as we are short staff right now and I’ll be back at the farm trying to catch up/keep up with planting.  Nicole will be there, so say hi to her for me.

See you soon,

Jonathan, Nicole, Kevin
