We’ll have choices from the following veggies this week: Lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, broccoli, broccolini, beets, carrots, turnip, kohlrabi, dill, cilantro, parsley, green onion, peas, cucumber, zucchini,
On the farm this week:
I know what many people are thinking to themselves as they read the veggies list this week ‘what – no radish this week?!!) That’s right, for better or for worse, we have some other vegetables than radish to harvest this week. Most of our crops have been about 2 weeks behind last year. Most except radish of course! This sudden heat has moved things along quickly though now and they’ve grown a lot this week
The heat is moving somethings along quickly, but it’s moving us a lot more slowly. Here’s Alyssa harvesting carrots and doing somethign I’ve never seen anyone do before, putting her head right into the sprinkler.

Also this week – war has broken out with the potato beetles. You might recall from last year that we were swatting the potato beetles into bins with tennis rackets. This year I had this giant bug swatter built that attaches to the back of tractor and swats them into a trough. It is saving so much time and potato destruction.

And here’s out cucumber and zucchinni which caught us by surprise this morning with how large they were! We usually add in an extra harvest day on Saturday starting in July to harvest cucumber and zucchini before they get to big; and realized this morning that the time for saturday harvests has come; so that means summer has finally arrived.
And for those who missed Barb, she’s BACK at the Wolseley market to help out Alyssa because she misses everyone so much!
That’s it for this week,
Thanks and see you soon,
Jonathan, Sarah, Sandra, Alyssa, Shola, Morgan, Adriian, Hin, Barb
