Farm news, Aug 31

We’ll have the following veggies this week:
lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, tomato, pepper, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, onions, carrots, beets, corn, parsley, cilantro, scallions and hot peppers.  We have 3 different hot peppers, the long skinnier ones are a large cayenne.  The short plump green one is jalepeno and the yellow one is hot wax pepper.  The hot wax isn’t that hot and the other two are.

On the Farm this week:

I finally get to complain about something!  The mosquitos are so bad now no one can believe!  I’m still waiting for a year where this doesn’t happen. Our work attire has gone back to full rain suits all day long just to avoid the mosquitoes.  Notice the big mosquito just beside Sarah’s left eye.  It’s biting so hard it’s pulling her eye over!  Looks like Michael left just in time and sends us pictures of his airconditioned office regularly.

Some good news is that planting is now completely done for the year!  (except maybe in the greenhouse a little bit).  Here’s my last lap plantings spinach which has already sprouted, so (except for the broccoli maybe )we have no more plantings to worry about!

That’s it for this week.

See you soon
