We’ll have the following veggies this week:

Lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, celery, cabbage, zucchini, beets, cucumber, onion, broccoli, beans, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, dill, cilantro, parsley, basil, green onion

On the farm this week:

The best part about this week is that we finished planting for the season! The days are getting shorter fast now so we don’t have to worry about greens bolting and so to get it all done with we planted the last few weeks worth of lettuce, spinach and herbs this past friday. Here’s everyone on the home stretch of planting out the lettuce. The summer has been tough for lettuce and spinach because it’s been so hot, but it usually does pretty well in the fall.

Also we’re having what might be our first rain all summer! We got a good pour on us at about 10 am this morning. But what can you do except keep going when we have our CSA pick up tomorrow. Here’s everyone picking zucchinin in the rain this morning. I asked what they’d prefer, the rain or 35 c and they said 35 degrees. Though I think if it was 35 degrees out and I had asked they would have all said they’d prefer if it was raining. At least it’s not cold and raining, because that is the worst. In the end we didn’t actually get that significant amount of rain. But hopefully by tomorrow it will rain lots and stop just in time for the market.

Also, I’m glad we got everything covered up last week, because the flea beetles are bad now! Walking through the broccoli this morning there was probably more flea beetles in the air than oxygen. So it was actually hard to breath!

That’s it for this week:

See you soon,
