We’ll have the following veggies this week:
lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, arugula, bok choi, broccolini, beets, kohlrabi, turnips, radish, carrots, dill, cilantro, parsley, basil, green onion.
This is the end of our bok choi this week. Judging by the number of bok choi in the trade bin, I don’t think too many people will be dissapointed. But I will be. It is so good just sauteed with garlic, ginger, sesame oil and soy sauce. I can eat it everyday. New this week is beet bunches!
On the farm this week:
I like to plan Monday through Thursday for harvesting and then every Friday we weed the whole farm and plant everything. It never works out like that however. Especially this year when we have one day that’s dry enough to weed each week and it’s never been Friday. this week it was Thursday So for a few hours after harvest was done we weeded as fast as we could. This is popular vegetable that everyone is weeding and it will be ready for next week (I hope). Can you tell what vegetable it is??
Then around 7 pm just after the market was done we got another downpour and heres the mother daughter duo of Alyssa and Barb hugging under a triple rainbow after returning from the Wolseley pick up Hugs and rainbows – What a family! If you can you tell which one is Barb and which is Alyssa you will win a prize!
Our head lettuce is ready now this week also. So you have many ways you can eat your lettuce this week. Here’s Sarah with one of my favorite lettuces we grow – magenta summer crisp lettuce.
That’s it for this week. See you soon!
