Farm news June 15/2026

We’ll have choices from the following (subject to change) :

Asparagus, lettuce, bok choi, radish, green onion, dill, cilantor, parsley, basil, turnip, pea shoots,

The asparagus is from River Valley farms.

On the farm this week: The drought is over! I feel a little bit responsible for the massive rainstorm we got because I set up the sprinklers to water that same day.

I don’t actually know when it rained. I listened to the wind all night and never heard it rain. So when people asked how much rain we got I told them nothing! Then I went outside and was so confused when I saw this.

I was not mentally prepared for harvesting in so much mud! I lost a shoe somwhere in the field where it got sucked right off my foot and I never actually found it. So if anyone finds my shoe in their lettuce, please let me know.

Other than being muddy for a few days, we are ok! The hail beat up our first planting of spinach and chard. which looks like this now (below). Fortunately no one acutally likes chard – so maybe this is good news. And our next spinach planting will be ready soon.

We also have one new person joining us; Hin. What’s crazy about Hin is that he’s a man. Usually after trying a day, men don’t come back. Last year everyones minds were blown when Shola lasted a whole season. This year we have 3 men! Something must be going on with the planets this year. Here’s Hin with Alyssa harvesting salad turnips.

That’s it for this week. See you soon!
